A Prayer Regarding Life’s Trials

If they'll fit me for the skies
Where dwell all the redeemed,

If they'll drive me to my knees
To more fully on You lean,

If they'll build a faith in me
That shows the lost the light,

If they'll embolden troubled souls
Through my determined fight,

Then, Lord, grant me infirmities
Reproaches and distress

And in each one I will rejoice
And count myself as blessed.

In my weakness I'll exult,
For strong I'll really be

With the power of my blessed Lord
Resting upon me.
